Stella and I killed some time while waiting for the girls to get out of art class.
Found that great star wall...I believe an abandoned dance studio.
Stella was singing ittsy bittsy spider.
And checking out bugs.
Came across a huge bubble machine set up outside...totally random!
She loved watching them fly.
Popping as many as she could.

I had MAJOR insomnia last night. I went to bed around 9 because I was tired from working the night before and I had had a migraine earlier in the day. I read for a bit and nodded off to sleep. Woke up at 10:45 and COULD NOT get back to sleep. I kept feeling like I couldn't swallow which made me panic. I started making lists in my head of all the things I can't forget to bring on our 10 day trip to Telluride. Then I started questioning myself as a mother. I need to stop feeling guilty about E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G! It's so easy to do as a mom. Perfection and motherhood do NOT go hand in hand and this I need to realize right damn now. I must have started nodding off again but because of my lack of swallowing I drank more water than usual which then made me have to ___e every half hour! Awake again. Checking the clock and counting the remaining time I have left to sleep. Ugggggg. It's morning...did I even sleep? Bought the cheap ground coffee instead of my usual and WHY the hoot did I do a stupid thing like that? Because I was trying to shave a few dollars off my already exorbitant grocery bill...note to self (don't skimp on the IMPORTANT things like coffee...makes for a lousy cup = a cranky mom). Blah, blah, blah. Working a ton next week. Yawn. Later taters.

Business in the front...

Party in the back.
NEVER a good idea.
WHY dear Lord do people think it's OK to hurt my eyes like this???
Every.single. solitary time I see someone with this offensive hair-don't I throw up a little in my mouth...I kid you not.
I saw one today and it took all I had not to reach out and yank that nastiness hanging in the back. I imagined then that my super hero strengths (if I had them) would lift this guy out of his unlaced work boots and send him flying into the next town.
Geesh...so gross.
So 2000 and never:)
But.
I digress.
I've been avoiding coming here because I'm OVERWHELMED!
I have so much to do.
So much I want to do.
Orders to fill.
Work.
Keep the girls entertained.
Get ready for our ten day trip to Colorado.
Plus,
It's been raining so much that my whole house smells like the 'old people' (and when I say 'the old people' I mean the previous owners of this house...and that just makes my skin crawl.)
I've been craving chocolate like you wouldn't believe and I DON'T have any!!!
HUH? Me? No chocolate?? Yep.
I will definitely be making some homemade chocolate pudding in the a.m.
I need to go to bed...just started a new book and can't wait to really dive in. I'm reading We Need To Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver...any of you read i
t?

Ruby...

Ruby.
She came into this world on her own terms.
Overdue by almost a week.
I was scheduled to be induced on July 2nd.
That made me scared.
I'd be traveling from New Hampshire to Cambridge, MA to welcome this baby and my Dr. was worried about the 4th of July traffic.
So we made the plans to be there on the 2nd but Miss Ruby must have known I didn't want to be induced because she wanted to come on the 1st.
HA!
It was a Tuesday.
July 1, 2003.
Ruby Tuesday (like the song, not the restaurant:)
Ruby.
July's birthstone.
Total coincidence.
Quick labor.
Beautiful sunny day.
Room overlooking Harvard's crew team rowing down the Charles.
Awesome.
Two pushes.
Ruby came out sunny-side up.
Ready to be our daughter.
Our Ruby.
Full of laughter, spunk, sass and all the other super funky qualities that make her Ruby.
100% pure.
Happy Birthday little girl!
