Halloween.
Done and done.
Phew!
I ask you what's the point of the night feature on a camera???
Cause it NEVER works!
Caught just a couple of shots worthy of any attention.
But take my word for it...they sure looked cute!
You'll notice Stella is a ladybug this time.
Yep.
Three different costumes she went through this Halloween!!!
We went to our friends house for a little BBQ and some laughs...
Sharing Pumpkin Ale and other goodies.
Fun.
Zoe had that wig off before she hit the first house.
Ruby too.
Ready for the Holiday rush?
Cause here it comes.
Starting now!

Keeping in true Halloween tradition Stella decided at the last minute not to wear her Unicorn costume she just had to have.
So I tore around the house counting down the seconds that would make us late for her preschool party.
Thankfully our dress-up collection isn't lacking and I was able to pull something together quick.
Little doll.

I think when you're little you look forward to Halloween almost as much as Christmas.
I'm not a big fan.
Yes, seeing the kids dressed up is cute.
That is once they've finally decided what they want to be.
Always changing their minds ten minutes before we head out to trick or treat.
It's a hassle.
Stressful.
Cold.
98% of the time rainy.
At least it's only once a year ;O
**
It was time to retire their old trick or treat bags.
I had contemplated buying them new ones but remembered I had some canvas bags kicking around.
Voila!
Cute, right?
The tag says 'tricky' :)
**
Off to make some mashed potatoes, prepare a chicken for roasting (God that sounds awful...and it is), and put the frozen peas in a viewable spot in the freezer.
I'll be working tonight and want the fam to have a good din din without me :)

Later Taters!

sniff, cough, a---chooo...

Yucky.
I've felt like el-crappo for the past couple of days. I've been coughing so much I can feel my abs getting a quality workout (so there IS a plus side). However coughing while experiencing a migraine is a cruel punishment I doubt anyone deserves (ok...maybe Osama Bin Laden).
I feel like this week has been a fuzzy haze with very little productivity. Monday was good. Got a bunch made for the shop but after that round of goodies it all went downhill. I did get around to making two yoga sweatshirts for my sister Mel to take to India...they came out very cute if I do say so myself. (I can't post them because I do want them to be a surprise for her). I will however make adaptations of them tomorrow and post them here and in the shop so keep your eyes open!
Random things that bug the crapola out of me:
  • Spare change randomly placed willy nilly.
  • Leaving the house before the beds are made.
  • Anyone other than myself doing the dishes in my kitchen.
  • Clutter.
  • As a lover of giving feedback on etsy it truly bums me out when not receiving the same courtesy...it takes just one second and it does matter.
  • Dog hair.
  • Dried dog slobber found in gosh, you name it!
  • Dried toothpaste in the sink bowl.
  • The total mess that is my craft/dining room.
  • Raking leaves for two hours and not making a dent.
  • Dishonesty.
  • When a really good TV series ends.
  • Not knowing what to make for dinner and when asking for suggestions the answer is always, 'it's up to you'.
  • Not finishing a project.
  • Seeing Halloween decorations still up. (Not my house y'all!)

Ok. Time's up for me...I'm off to do the dishes. My dishes. In my kitchen.

Trick-or-Treat...

how cool are these treats?

Halloween. I'm pretty sure the girls could take it or leave it. Yes, they're super psyched for the candy but every year it's like pulling teeth to get them dressed and out the door. I was scrambling like crazy to find warm clothes and outfits they'd actually want to wear. One day they tell me they're going to be one thing (and that's what I plan on) and then the day of, they switch on me! Crazy. They.drive.me.crazy!
Ruby is supposed to be a lady bug in a garden (I made her wear snow pants last night it was sooo cold!). Zoe is supposed to be Miley Cyrus (Craig and I thought she looked more like a glamour girl). Little Miss Stella is a Kangaroo that hops around saying 'ribbit, ribbit'!
Hit the whole neighborhood and got home in time to look at the loot, have two pieces of candy, brush teeth and go night-night.

I've been working on hand towels for the shop and will post those soon :)

I took Ruby and Stella for an impromptu visit to The Children's Museum this afternoon. I so love that they are just a few minutes away!
So, I haven't been posting regularly lately and there is a very, VERY good reason for it! My computer had/has a virus that I am going crazy in trying to rid it of. I know deep in my heart that a: we either need a new computer...or b: I need to give it up to the experts and be without it for a few days!!!! I just can't do it!!! I attribute this virus with my moodiness lately...DEFINITELY!!! So. We've lost documents. My email system has changed (for the worse COMCAST, for the worse). I can't seem to get my photo program to work...the whole thing is just a mess so please excuse my absence if you were missing me :)
Tomorrow is Halloween in our town/state...why? don't know...it's silly! So we'll be off Trick or Treating till the wee hours (of 8pm) with friends but I'll try and post some pix of the ladies :)

Sparklie's
  • We carved our pumpkins tonight and they look really sweet.
  • Made THE best coffee cake muffins this morning with Stella...Maybe I'll post the recipe.
  • Talked to Andrea for a bit today...she's just a solid good friend and I do love her and her crazy life...she always makes me laugh.
  • My sister is flying in from Telluride tomorrow!!!!

pirate gingerbread girl...

gingerbread house 2...
Well, it seems like I haven't posted in forEVa!
We had a pretty mellow weekend: Zoe had her BFF sleep over Friday night. We ordered pizza in and watched a movie. All was quiet at about 10pm. Saturday morning they were up about 7:30 and I could just tell Kristen (the BFF) just wasn't 'right'. I asked her if everything was okay and she assured me it was. Now, I've been dubbed her second Mom...this girl has lived in this house and Zoe in theirs non-stop for the past four years. I knew something was up. I pulled Zoe aside and asked if maybe they had had a spat, 'no'. I let it go for about a half an hour and watched this girl like a hawk. Normally they want chocolate chip pancakes...Kristen wanted plain...HUH? Red flags are going off and I sit down next to her and look her in the eye and told her I knew her well enough to know something was wrong, what was it? Finally she tells me her tummy hurt. I call her Mom and go and tell her. Next thing I know there's projectile vomit all over my couch, rocking chair and floor. Yikes! Poor little thing...she's better now but not the best way to start the day.
In the afternoon we went over to RGS for the Halloween party...The girls had fun dressing up and playing the games. I was a little irritated with the choice of candy they had in the prizes they gave. Fire balls, jaw breakers, peppermint suckers, butterscotch suckers, jolly ranchers (ALL HARD, CHOKING HAZARDS!!!) I had to promise them I'd break open our Halloween candy and trade them out for the chokeables.
Sunday we spent around the house doing 'stuff''. I can't believe I haven't mentioned it yet but I've been fighting a really bad virus on our computer since Saturday. Some backdoor Trojan...I think I've got it all cleared up but it was a doozy! I'll keep my fingers crossed because it really STRESSES me out when I don't have the computer working...Plus, I missed posting!
Made those two tee's yesterday and today. The pic of the girls was taken on Saturday. Hope you had a great weekend!

Holy smokes, where did the time go? Halloween is next week! The girls have their school Halloween party this Saturday and Ruby will be in a 'character' parade next week with her class. Ru decided to be Angelina Ballerina. Perfect! We already have leotards, tights, ballet slippers...we definitely had tutu's but Ruby wanted a rainbow one so whatever Miss Ruby wants, she gets! Made the nose out of an egg carton, hot glue, pom pom, ribbon and pipe cleaners. Made the ears out of a headband, pipe cleaners, sparkly stuff and more recycled egg carton. She loves her get up and can't wait to wear them 'for real'. Now I've got to come up with something 'Miley Cyrus-ish' for Zo...shouldn't be too hard...I saved some of the super funky stuff I used to wear bartending on Lansdowne Street. Sweet Stella will either pick and choose out of our dress up collection, be a one-eyed green furry monster or perhaps I'll grab her something at Target :)

today's cuties...

not too much time today with the girls having only a half day and a school picnic at 5... but i was able to whip these cuties up in between wiping noses and packing a dinner.

r was back at school and has her first kindergarten friend coming over to play tomorrow.
z ran the mile at school today and according to my friend deb who happened to see her while running, said she was doing it with a smile...phew!
s still has a runny, runny nose but her spirits are back to silly.
i'm waiting patiently for my second batch of labels to arrive...i can't believe i've gone through 90 already!!! i'm also waiting for some yummy scraps from lassiegirl...soon i hope!
okay, off to get everyone ready...we have to leave in 45 minutes!
