crayola magic

i was nervous to try this

i don't like messes
i have enough messes
without adding more to the messiness
get me?
but they are sooo pretty!
i first saw them done here
and then over here
the latter in which i fell in love.
so i let the kids grate the crayons
it took sooo long.
my impatience got the best of me
so i grabbed the hammer and a ziploc bag and did the rest
even smashed them with the wrappers on
(you just pull them out after).
much easier
and less messy :)
go do it!

Worked last night.
Woke up with a start.
HAD to make a little outfit for Ruby to show off on her last day of school tomorrow.
Found the cutest rainbow fabric at......cough, Walmart.
Found a basic pattern which made NO sense to me and took it's measurements and added a couple inches.
Love the white eyelet ruffle.
HAD to make a little tee to go with...
Love.
A little funky and VERY Ruby.
For her last day of Kindergarten.

Taaa-Dahhhhh!

OMG.
I'm done.
It took me hours and hours and hours.
Miles and miles of shrimp colored tulle.
Yardage upon yardage of fabulous fabric.
It's not perfect and I don't care.
This skirt can twirl like nobodies business and frankly that's all that matters.
A certain someone will look gorgeous wearing it in front of the whole school on Monday:)
Will I make another one?
Ugggggg.
Yes.
I'll have to make two more.
Am I looking forward to it?
No.

Pie eating contest.

What follows after the pie eating contest?

Yep, the barf-O-rama.

Know what we've been up to our eyeballs in?

Yep, barf.

Our plans for a burger and movie went out the window at about 3pm yesterday afternoon.

Ruby started her fun filled evening with el'yucko.

Then Zoe.

Then Stella.

My house smells like gaggggggg.

I've got enough laundry to kill our water supply.

Who's next?

My money's on moi but could be the Daddy.

To keep my sanity somewhat in tact I made a little/big something for our family room.

I just love it!

My favorite part is the little doggie :)

I'm almost caught up with all the Cora orders...I can't even believe how many I've sold...I'm so excited!

A little something...

for Zoe.

Being a carpenter's wife I used what we had handy...wood as the canvas.

I custom mixed this great turquoise color (which is NOT reflected in the pic...sorry!) and used silver paint to do the words. Once that was dry I painted over the whole thing with glitter paint we had used in Ruby's room for one of her walls.

You can see a little sparkle, can't you?

Our sweet Zoe is SO hard on herself and has a hard time believing in herself. It makes us SO sad!

I thought a little reminder might do her some good.

It looks great on her wall...it's huge!

ps....we'll be painting her walls soon...that yellow is leftover from Stella's nursery :)

I covered this lampshade this morning....I love the way it turned out...you'd die though if you knew how I did it and what it looks like from underneath....Martha would NOT be proud ;)

I resurrected my little boy with a boo boo for an order and I just love the way he turned out!

I know a to-do list was supposed to be posted today but I became overwhelmed when writing it and just erased it. I should know by now that just by ignoring something it won't go away. Here are only a couple of things that need to get done sooner than later.

1. I need to get Stella out of our bed. I've vowed during February vacation this will get done. It's going to be a rough week. NOT looking forward to this.
2. I need to start the potty training process with Miss S. She'll be starting Preschool in September and can't go with a diaper on. Gosh, I can't believe my baby is going to school already!
3. I will need the 'gooky' (aka pacifier) fairy to make a visit to Miss S. someday soon...again, not looking forward to this.

Ruby had been begging me all week to make her something.

With all I have on the back burner already what was a few extra minutes?

I used an old baby blanket to make her and stuffed her with leftover batting (she could be much softer with stuffing but hey!)

Ruby's happy now and I can finally finish this order!

The countdown is on and I'm starting to flip!

Luckily Daddy got to stay home today due to the snow so while he took these guys out sledding I...

whipped up some sugar cookies to decorate later this afternoon,

wrapped 5 gifts (count that...that's five less than the hundreds left...yikes),

Finished one gift and I LOVE it!!!!

SO MUCH!

Thankfully my Christmas cards arrived yesterday morning so I was able to get most of them sent out. Here it is for all my bloggy friends :) made on recycled paper :)

Off to do more since there's more to do!

Trying to get a quick little blog in here today!

Just finished up the Trunk Show orders and wrapped them for delivery. My fave is the little Asian girl...I just loooove her! Sorry the pic is a bit blurry!

I think I'm going to start including a little matching tag that can be used for gifting with each order. I normally make the tag as seen above but the back has my info on it and gifters may want to write their own little message. So from this point on each design will come with not one but two tags! You can see the little tags below (I used them to label whose packages were whose this time around :)

Had to keep the girls busy while working away. I knew before they began I was asking for trouble: glue + paint + sparkly things + glitter = A MESS!

Poor little Stella she's got an awful rash on her face...see? Oh and notice the glitter in the corner...full, right? NOT ANYMORE!

Holiday decorations are up and continuing to be tweaked.
