My overpaid super model ;)
So, my idea was to make a 'party' hat but a warm 'party' hat. I wanted it to be a cone but this will do for my first time around. It's cozy and cute! Once I get them perfect perhaps you'll see them in the shop. I'm onto mittens next! I'll post pix when I'm done :)
Rock star Ruby...
Martha's Halloween Blondies...mmmmmmm

Things I know about myself after watching this amazing short film:
~ I miss my Dad immensely and realize I've been in mourning for someone who is very much alive. ~ I miss the hours upon hours we'd sit in Quincy Market and people watch. ~ I miss our Sunday or was it Saturday trips to pick up a Barrons and a pack of Chiklets. ~ I miss hearing 'how sweet it is'... ~ I miss being a kid. ~ I miss the innocence. ~ I need to have more patience with my children and all the loved ones in my life. ~ I need to embrace this life I have and run with it. ~ I need to stop feeling bad about things in which I have no control over. ~ I need to be less selfish. ~ I need to hug more. ~ I need to laugh more. ~ I need to allow myself to be loved. ~ I need to give more of myself to those that need me. ~ I need to be a better friend. ~ I want to be a better mother. ~ I want to be a better wife. ~ A better sister. ~ A better daughter. ~ A better aunt. ~ I will.... ~ I want to...

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds ~ loads of seeds ~ one stick of butter ~ sea salt (lots of it :) or if you like sweet instead of savory ~ cinnamon sugar ~ honey or ~ maple syrup
Roast in 425 oven until a lovely brown.
Six girls. Six pumpkins. 24 + hours. Two asleep by 10. Three asleep after 11. Two up before 7. Three up before 7:30. Hundreds of seeds needing roasting. One Mom needing sleep. One Dad needing sleep. One dog kept at bay. Hectic. Super fun. xo
Getting ready for a little something special for the girls tomorrow night! Have a great day! xo

I had to combat my ho-hums and do something fun to lift my spirits. So, while I should have been doing a number of other things I instead made Stella this little recycled dress. Dug through the Goodwill bag I had packed to send off and made this little number out of 5 different pieces. SO cute and SO fun. If I get good enough perhaps I'll open a second etsy shop ;) Like who has time for that, right?
I haven't felt like coming here. It's so much easier to ignore the chaos in your life if you stick it deep inside that hole in your head/heart than to purge it here, there, anywhere. I feel overwhelmed (a common theme in my life) and when I get this way I shut down. It's like admitting defeat by acknowledging it and we all know I hate to feel like a loser. So I lock it up and wait and wait and wait until I've had enough and then I let the deluge begin. Woke up this morning at 5 am to the sounds of gunshots in the distance. Hunters. I loath what they're doing. Turns my stomach inside and out. Makes me fret, weep, hate. Welcome to October. Run deer, run for your lives! I then had to pass those hate filled trucks, vans, cars on my way to bring the kids to school. I could feel my foot, a heavy weight on the pedal as I sped by...trying yet again to ignore what I don't want to see/hear/know. It's cold out this morning...the leaves already falling...leaving a blanket of covering on the grass. Gorgeous reds, yellows, orange. Melancholy. xo
