Abra-ca-DA-bra...

What a little sun, cool breeze and ICE CREAM can do for one's spirit.
I need the bad juju to go aaawwwwwaaaaayyyyyyy!
So cranky.
Bad mood.
Ready to rip someones head off (not really people!).
Tired.
I'm done with that...DONE!
Onto the good stuff!
Did a little sewing today.
Filled an order.
Working on another.
Making some baby blocks for Chef.
Got a naked three year old jumping on the bed, squealing.
Ready to dive into this book and find some answers.
My tireless days of ALWAYS trying to be perfect are O.V.A.H! (at least I'll try)

Hope you're having a good day!

I need to vent...

101 in Swine flu prevention...don't let your kid do this :)
thanks honeybee for the laugh!

Now for the vent.
Call me crazy. Tell me I'm over reacting. Tell me you'd totally be annoyed, mad, frustrated too. Here's what happened. A little friend in Ruby's class had a birthday yesterday. On Monday when I went to pick Zoe up from school we ran into 'Chloe' and her Mom. 'Chloe' asked if Ruby could come over after school yesterday to celebrate her birthday with her. The wheels started turning in my head...how in the world would I be able to pull off a gift in less than 24 hours knowing I was working until at least midnight on Monday and wouldn't have the time to run and get one? I did what I had to do. I dragged my sorry a$$ to Wally world first thing Tuesday morning, bought a gift, wrapped it and delivered it to 'Chloe's' doorstep. No, this wasn't a birthday party...just a playdate. I still felt inclined to get a little something even though if 'Chole' does have a b'day party I'd probably pick something else up for her as well. Ok. I digress. Fast foward to 2:00pm. I'm rushing, stressed and out of time. I again have to go to work, exhausted and totally not in the mood or mindset to process what was about to happen.

'Missy' opens the door and I see Ruby in the background looking really, really sad. I thought uh-oh...bad playdate. NO! 'Missy' tells me that the gift I had rushed to get 'Chloe' was a duplicate of one she already had so she took the girls to Walmart to exchange it for another. WHAT???? About 100 thoughts started flying through my head. You took my daughter in your car without my permission? You took my daughter to Walmart aka the land of the child predators without my permission. You stood in the customer service line that is always at least a half hour wait with my daughter without my permission. You made my daughter feel bad about the gift I had bought and so on this 90 degree day you HAD to take my daughter with YOU to Walmart? Out of the three hour playdate you spent at least an hour of it in the land of the horrible? My daughter had to watch your daughter get excited about getting a new toy at Walmart and stand by and get nothing? SHE'S FIVE!!! You DON'T do that!!!! My heart is racing as I'm writing this...I'm SOOOO pissed!

I grab Ruby...apologized for her behavior (WHY did I DO that!!!!!!?????) I just wanted to get the heck out of there. So shoeless, hot, embarrassed, and PISSED we get in the car. I'm mad and I feel horrible. I explain a little loudly :O to Ruby that she can't ask for gifts and that she doesn't get to get something every time she's in a store. My.blood.is.boiling!!!!!!! I calm myself down and move on.

She will never, NEVER be allowed to go to this little girls house again. I wish I were more verbally confrontational because I'd love to give this woman an ear full...I'm just not. As for going to 'Chole's' birthday party??? Ummmmm.....we'll be busy that day whenever the heck it is.

Don't mess with me.

Oh and 'Missy' if you're reading this? You're not too smart, are you?

Scooter girl...

Looking ever so fabulous with her sparkly sneaks we went for a ride.
Four feet ahead and four feet back.
Too hot!
90 sweaty degrees!!!
Happy.
I worked last night and will again tonight but then I have the rest of the week off until Saturday!
I promise, promise, promise some cuteness will emerge for my shop!
I've been so lax and that is SO not like me!!!
Have a great day beauties!!!

Goofy...

Give the kids a little wood and a paint brush and they are happy for hours.
Give a kid a sprinkler and they are happy for hours.
Give a kid goggles and they turn into the cutest goof you ever did see.
Stella's totally rockin her 'look'...don't cha think?

Bean...

Dropped the big girls off at the art studio this morning.
Afterwards Stella and I stopped into our little towns coveted coffee shop, The Black Bean.
Good coffee...very good coffee :)
We shared a plate of eggs and homemade toast...mmmmm.
Stella was being silly.
The guys out front were hard at work on their machines making us a new sidewalk.
Stella was fascinated.
We watched for at least twenty minutes.
Hopped in the car and headed out to do some errands.
Stella thought she was blowing bubbles...see?
Would you look at that horrible rash on her chin? :(
Overall a nice day.
I did get a call from the art studio around noon and had to go pick Ruby-Doo up early.
My sensitive little girl got her feelings hurt and just couldn't stay.
Apparently an older girl...very snotty like told Ruby she was sitting in HER chair.
The Mama lion in me wanted to go down there ready to kick some a$$.
Instead I went down there, gave Ruby a big hug and tried like honey not to make eye contact with any of the other little girls sitting around the table.
Lightening bolts could have very likely shot out of my eyeballs, zapping the guilty snot princess.
Anyhoo...done.
It's going to get into the 80's this weekend!!!
Can't wait.
Bye!

Earth day...

We celebrated Earth Day on Friday!
Every year the school does a HUGE clean up with one of the local private schools coming to help.
I was AMAZED by this recycled sculpture the entire school helped make.
Our town is home to hundreds of artists who often lend their expertise and talents to our kiddos...so cool!
***
Stella will be three, three, THREE in a couple of weeks!!!
How is it possible?
Head over to my other blog to get a sneak peak on some of the gifts we'll be getting for her :)
***
The kids are on vaca this week :O
Tomorrow Ruby and Zoe will be doing an all day art camp at one of the local studios...yeah!
Not sure what else will be planned but I've got to come up with something, fast!
***
I'm off to go make frosting for their sugar cookies...and I've got to work tonight!
Have a great day!

Good things...

Ahhhhh...my dining room is starting to look less like a sweat shop and more like my office (we only 'dine' in there about twice a year so 'my office' it is!).
I cleaned out the hutch and put the wine glasses and platters on the bottom.
Put all my fun, vintage martini shakers in the kitchen...I'll snap a pic for ya'll to see later :)
Went through the daunting task of folding all my fabrics and neatly placing them in piles.
I'm hoping this first Spring cleaning/organization keeps the ball rolling...I MUST stay inspired!!!
***
I've been avoiding Old Navy like the plague since their new ad campaign first made it's debut.
I find it ugly and a total turn off.
However, I went in there today to grab a few things for the girls and saw these birdie sweaters and HAD to have both of them for myself...TOO CUTE!
***
I've been playing with this little Earth Day design in my head for a few days and finally had a little time to get it done today. I made one for both Zoe and Ruby. I'll be listing them in the shop in a bit. I know it's a little late to be listing something for Earth Day but we need to love our Mama every day not just one day out of the year!!!! Cute ehh?

Easter cuteness...

Easter is always fun.
Everyone always seems to be in a good mood.
The sun shining.
The dogwood trees showing their blossoms.
I love Easter.
Love the candy.
Love the bunnies.
Love the fun colors.
Love that spring has really sprung.
*
Hope you had a fun Easter too!

I got home from work at 1:00 am.
I woke up at 5:00 am (I'm not even sure how this was possible).
I vaguely remember pulling two dozen decorated eggs out of the fridge to hide.
Went back to bed.
Ruby woke me up at 6:00 am.
I said give me 10 minutes.
She came back in two.
**
Happy Easter!

Mish mosh...

The temp got to 60 fabulous degrees this afternoon so we soaked up the sun at the Grade School.
We've been waiting all Winter to do this...thank you Spring!!!

Align CenterMade this little cutie for a client but I listed her in the shop cause I can make one for you too!

I was trying to get Stella to do her 'shoulder' move but she resisted. The clip is cute though...her voice is just darling :)

Hope you had a great day!
